  • Cottage Accommodation, Pigeon Bay, Canterbury

Take a leisurely drive an hour east of Christchurch city on SH75 and you’ll find yourself in the beautifully rugged heart of rural Banks Peninsula. Many tourists would then follow the highway to the French settlement and township of Akaroa, but turn left at Hilltop drive along Summit Road and you’ll wind your way down to pristine Pigeon Bay. There, you’ll discover that it’s no wonder some of the first Canterbury settlers chose this tranquil inlet as their home.

Steeped in local history, ‘Annandale’ was one of the original farms established by the early settlers. It still functions today as an operating sheep station with the restoration of the historic Annandale homestead, farm buildings and gardens a carefully supervised project under development.
