Accommodation – The School House
While early Pigeon Bay residents established a strong agricultural identity, the families also worked earnestly to provide a meaningful education for their children. One of the first Canterbury educational academies had its beginnings in Pigeon Bay. Today, an authentic, weatherboard school building and grounds provide the backdrop for ‘The School House’, a simple 3 bedroom cottage ideal for family holiday accommodation. Originally the schoolmaster’s house, the fully furnished, renovated cottage sits close to the beach with easy access to bush and farm walks.
